What made you decide to become a teacher?
I became a teacher because of the educators who inspired me to do well in academics and in sports. I wanted to carry on their mentor and guiding skills to ensure that students are motivated, challenged, and guided.
Why are you passionate about science education?
I am passionate about science education because it helps students learn critical thinking skills, which will translate to success in their future career choice.
What are some of the most rewarding and challenging aspects of teaching?
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching for me is seeing the growth of my students in their decision-making and academic skills. One of the many challenges that I face as a teacher is encouraging these young minds to believe in themselves.
Describe your teaching philosophy.
I believe that the classroom is an environment for students to grow and learn. Students are encouraged to build from their successes and mistakes. All students learn differently and are unique. I Provide a safe environment for each student to express their thoughts and views to encourage academic dialogue.
