What lessons in leadership have you learned from your involvement in WestEd/K-12 Alliance?
Working with WestEd/K-12 Alliance has reiterated the success of the continuous learning model and collaboration with team members.
What made you decide to pursue a career in education?
I always knew I wanted to be in a profession to serve others, and education has given me the opportunity to serve students, staff, families, and community to make a positive impact.
Why are you passionate about science education?
It was important to focus on our K-12 implementation because science was not focused on previously and there were so many changes to the content with Next Generation Science Standards. I love the processes in science of developing models, investigating, analyzing data, and designing a solution.
What is your philosophy in building teacher leadership?
My philosophy in building teacher leadership is that we all lead from every position, and everyone makes an impact. Building that leadership structure at our schools is important to create sustainable systems that result in student success.
