Pasadena is a vibrant city nestled at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, 11 miles northeast of Downtown Los Angeles and 16 miles east of Hollywood. This famous Southern California city is known for its culture vultures, world-class shopping, fine dining, museums, and of course being in the location with 300 days of sunshine year around.
Pasadena is the home to many iconic tourist attractions such as the Pasadena Playhouse, the official state theater of California, located in the Bohemian-Centric Playhouse District. This neighborhood has many specialty shops, local crafts and an open air museum. Downtown Pasadena has taken to the motto “Shop. Dine. Live” It’s shopping and dining district has several designer shops, boutiques, outdoor bistros and spas that reflects the stylish lifestyle one would imagine living in Southern California. The Civic Center district is home to the Pasadena Central Library, City Hall and the Paseo, a beautiful retail and specialty shopping promenade. And for the history buff, Pasadena is also one of the cities that the Historic Route 66 runs through. Nightlife options abound, from bars and lounges, to live music venues and comedy clubs.
The Pasadena Convention Center will be the main site of the 2018 California Science Education Conference. Located right outside of Old Pasadena, the Convention center holds three large conference centers, three exhibit halls, a ballroom, civic auditorium and has an ice skating center on location.
